Terms of Service
Last updated: 22 September 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Sniffari, including its travel planning, pet profiles, AI assistant, and identity and sign-in service (the "Service") operated by ALIS SARL ("we", "us"). The Service lets you create an account, sign in to applications that rely on it, and manage the applications, API keys and integrations connected to your account.
By creating an account, signing in, or clicking "Allow" on a consent screen, you agree to these Terms and acknowledge our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Who may use the Service
You must be at least 16 years old, or the age of digital consent where you live if higher. If you use the Service on behalf of an organisation, you confirm that you are authorised to bind that organisation to these Terms, and "you" includes that organisation.
Your organisation's administrator may limit who can create an account, which sign-in providers are available, and how long you stay signed in.
2. Your account
- Accurate information. Provide a valid email address and keep your profile accurate.
- Keep it secure. You are responsible for activity under your account and for the security of the devices and identity-provider accounts (for example Google or Microsoft) you use to sign in. Tell us promptly at jan@alisx.com if you suspect unauthorised access. You can review and end your signed-in sessions from your account console.
- One person per account. Do not share your account or sign in as someone else.
- Administrators. Our administrators can view your account details, assign roles, block or delete your account, and configure the Service.
3. Acceptable use
You must not, and must not help anyone else to:
- access or attempt to access another person's account, tokens or data;
- probe, scan or test the Service for vulnerabilities without written permission, or interfere with its operation (including denial-of-service, credential stuffing or automated abuse);
- bypass rate limits, blocklists, consent screens or other protective measures;
- use the Service to phish, impersonate any person or application, or mislead users about who is requesting access;
- register an application that misrepresents its identity, purpose or owner, or that requests scopes it does not need;
- use the Service for anything unlawful, or in breach of the rights of others.
We may suspend or block accounts, applications and API keys that we reasonably believe breach this section.
4. Developer applications, API keys and integrations
If you register an application, create an API key or connect an integration:
- Your application is yours. You are responsible for your application: its security, how it handles the data it receives about users, and its compliance with the law. You must publish your own privacy policy to your users and follow it.
- Protect credentials. Client secrets and API keys are shown once. Keep them confidential, rotate them if exposed, and never embed them in client-side code.
- Least privilege. Request only the scopes your application needs, and describe them honestly on the consent screen.
- Users can revoke access. Users may revoke your application's access at any time. Your application must handle revoked or expired tokens gracefully.
- Integrations. Connecting a third-party integration is subject to that third party's terms. You authorise us to store and use the credentials it issues solely to act on your behalf until you revoke the connection.
We may change scopes, endpoints or protocol details with reasonable notice where practical, and immediately where needed for security.
5. Sniffari subscriptions and travel information
Journey planning requires an active subscription. Sniffari Monthly purchased in the iPhone app renews monthly through Apple. The app displays the applicable localized price before purchase; the initial US storefront price is USD 0.99 per month. Apple charges your Apple Account and renews automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Manage or cancel using your Apple Account subscription settings. Restore purchases from the Subscription screen while signed in to the Sniffari account used for the purchase. Apple handles refund requests for App Store purchases.
The iOS application is also licensed under Apple's Standard End User License Agreement. Your mandatory consumer rights apply. Existing website subscriptions continue to provide access without requiring a second subscription.
Places, routes, welcome information, reviews and AI responses can be incomplete or inaccurate. Verify opening times, venue pet policies, route safety and accessibility. Sniffari does not provide veterinary, emergency or professional travel-safety advice. You remain responsible for your pets and for complying with local rules.
5A. Availability and changes
We aim to keep the Service available and secure, but we do not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation. We may modify, suspend or discontinue any part of the Service, and we may set limits on usage, sessions and tokens. Where a change materially reduces functionality you rely on, we will try to give reasonable notice.
6. Suspension and termination
You may stop using the Service at any time and initiate account deletion from Your account → Delete my account in the iPhone app. Apple subscriptions must be cancelled separately in your Apple Account settings; deleting your account does not stop Apple billing.
We may suspend or terminate your access, or block an application or email address, if you breach these Terms, if required by law, if your organisation instructs us to, or if continued access would create a security risk. Where practical we will tell you why and how to appeal.
On termination, your right to use the Service ends, your sessions and API keys are revoked, and we handle your information as described in the Privacy Policy.
7. Intellectual property
The Service, including its software, design and documentation, is owned by ALIS SARL or its licensors and protected by intellectual property law. These Terms do not grant you any rights in it other than the limited right to use it as described here. You keep all rights in the information you provide and the applications you build.
8. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why, and your rights over it. It is a notice about how we handle information, not a contract term, and we may update it independently of these Terms.
9. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement and that the Service will meet your requirements or be secure or error-free.
Nothing in these Terms excludes rights that cannot be excluded under the law that applies to you, including consumer-protection rights.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, ALIS SARL and its affiliates, officers, employees and suppliers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, revenue or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with the Service or these Terms.
Our total liability for all claims relating to the Service in any twelve-month period is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for the Service in that period and [not configured].
These limits do not apply to liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or gross negligence or wilful misconduct.
11. Indemnity
If you use the Service on behalf of an organisation or operate a developer application, you will indemnify us against claims, losses and costs arising from your application, your users' use of it, or your breach of these Terms, except to the extent caused by our own breach or negligence.
12. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the law of [not configured], without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and the courts of [not configured] have jurisdiction over any dispute, unless the consumer-protection law where you live gives you the right to bring proceedings elsewhere. Before starting formal proceedings, please contact us and give us a reasonable opportunity to resolve the issue.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. The "Last updated" date at the top shows when they last changed. For material changes we will give reasonable notice before they take effect, for example on the sign-in page or by email. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, stop using the Service and ask us to delete your account; otherwise the updated Terms apply from the date they take effect.
14. General
If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them to an affiliate or successor. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and us about the Service.
